The translation adapter provides a translation API
||The generic translation adapter reads translations from a .mo or .po file.|
||The PHP .mo file translation adapter reads translations from a .mo file and uses the PHP internal gettext API. This is the recommended adapter in production mode.|
||The null translation adapter is a dummy adapter and is used to disable the translator.|
||The locale-only translation adapter extends the null translation adapter and can set the locale, but it can not translate anything.|
The translation adapter allows you to internationalize your application. Achieving this requires experience.
Most existing content management systems either do not implement internationalization, or implement it incompletely or implement it wrong. For example, some systems on the market use translation logic that is unable to use plurals within translations or is set to exactly two plurals. If you use such a system and want to expand your ecommerce business to a country whose language has more than two plural forms, such as Russia, what happens then? Right, it will not work!
In addition, none of the existing systems can handle a translation context. And what happens if you have a complex business logic and if you need internationalization and if you depend on such systems? Right, you lose track. For more information about what context means, click here.
Even if you find a content management system that is theoretically able to handle translations correctly, it will certainly not be able to automatically generate a translation file. Do you want that your developers manually extract 2000-5000 phrases from the source code? It will take forever and cost a lot of money if it works at all.
It is no coincidence that our company name is IT Business Experts. The technical part of this internationalization and translation stuff needs a lot of experience, and that is why all other systems fail in this point, they lack the experience.
We have compressed our experience into a system that can be easily used by anyone. Our system is universally plural capable, it can handle translation context and you can automatically create the translation file for your application.
It's even possible to automatically translate entire .po files into just over 100 languages with just a few clicks. Imagine what it would cost to hire translators with it.
Unlike other systems, our system is 100% compatible with the Gettext API (which is used by every professional application).
Simply select your project files in a tree view, click a button, save a .mo or .po file, and you're done. To see how translations can be realized in the UCMS (even in PDF documents) look at the corresponding documentation of the translate tag.
